Kari Sam Wuhrer, born on 28th April 1968 is an American actor and singer. Wuhrer began her career as a teenager. She is recognized for her role as Maggie Beckett in the television show Sliders and also as Sheriff Samantha Parker in the horror comedy film Eight Legged Freaks.Wuhrer was born in Brookfield, Connecticut, the daughter of Karin (nee Noble), an accountant for payroll, as well as German American Andrew Wuhrer, an officer in the police force and a auto salesman. There are three sisters and brothers. In her teens, she performed at nightclubs in the dark, escaping from home. Following her studies in acting at the Wooster School, at the age of 13, she was a drama student at the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts located at Marymount Manhattan College and Columbia University. She also studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts under renowned Uta Hagen. She was born April 28 the 28th of April, 1967 in Brookfield Connecticut. Her German-American father is a car dealer and police officer. Kari was born in a family that included four members. The singer was in nightclubs when she was teens, sneaking out of the house to sing. Kari started studying acting when she was 13. Then she studied acting at the Tisch School of the Arts located at New York University and Columbia University. Marymount Manhattan College and The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, together with Uta Hagen, a renowned instructor. Kari began performing when she was in her teens, her first TV break coming in 1987's MTV Remote Control.
